First edition. Inscribed by the author in ink at the front flyleaf, To Aunt Louise / with love of the author / Charlotte Perkins Gilman. In her preface, Gilman describes the novel as “a short distance Utopia, a baby Utopia... It involves no other change than a change of mind, the mere awakening of people, especially the women, to existing possibilities.” An uncommon Gilman title. Scharnhorst 568.
