Frauenwahlrecht! Herausgegeben zum Zweiten Sozialdemokratischen Frauentag.

(Rosa Luxemburg) Zetkin, Klara, ed. and Rosa Luxemburg. Frauenwahlrecht! Herausgegeben zum Zweiten Sozialdemokratischen Frauentag. [Stuttgart, Dietz], May 12, 1912.

4to.; printed wrappers; lightly browned.

Very rare first edition of this feminist pamphlet, ; with five illustrations. Not in Emig, Dietz; we were unable to locate any other copy.

Apart from one Address by August Bebel and a few passages quoted from world literature, all contributions are written by women. Luxemburg’s article is headed Frauenwahlrecht und Klassenkampf (Women’s suffrage and class struggle). This illustrated large-format pamphlet was distributed at the second women’s day of the Social Democratic Party.

Edited by Luxemburg’s friend Zetkin (1857-1933), the influential German Socialist politician and campaigner for women’s rights. She developed the Social Democratic women’s movement and moved later in life to the left, co-founding the Spartacist League and the Independent Social Democratic Party (USPD) in 1916, and joining the Communist Party (KPD).
