The Him Book was the late socialite D.D. Ryan's personal account and ranking of all the Harvard, Yale, and Brown students she dated. If you haven't gone through it, you must! D.D. ranks all her dates on various critical levels.
I acquired it with dozens of D.D.'s personal books, including volumes inscribed by Truman Capote, Halston, Avedon, and a host of others in the literary and fashion world at a local auction in January of 2008.
D.D.'s claim to fame was to be the midwife of Eloise! Urging her friend Kay Thompson to write a book, she hooked her up with Hilary Knight at the elegant Plaza Hotel and the rest is literary history. For this, D.D. was dubbed the fashionable Godmother to Eloise.
