A collection of letters from novelist, muckraker, and political radical Jessica Mitford (a.k.a. Decca Treuhaft), to writer and activist Kay Boyle, spanning four decades and documenting the friendship between the two. The letters pertain to the various projects of both writers, books and articles read, manuscripts exchanged, activist work, mutual friendships, etc. Also included are several reproduced typescripts by Mitford from her activist work prior to the publication of her first novel; a manuscript “Codicil to my Will” and acrostic poem for Robert Treuhaft (Mitford's husband and Boyle's lawyer), both by Boyle; letters from Robert Treuhaft to Boyle; and related printed items.
