Charter of the United Nations and Statute of the International Court of Justice. CONFIRM # ON BOOK

From The Library Of Eleanor Roosevelt

Charter of the United Nations and Statute of the International Court of Justice. New York: Privately printed, 1946.

Square 12mo.; printed blue wrappers; near fine. In a specially made cloth slipcase.

Privately printed, likely for limited distribution to members of the United Nations and officers of the International Court of Justice.

A beautiful copy of an important document with stellar provenance: With Eleanor’s elaborate bookplate on the front pastedown, along with the discreet round label—less than one square inch—printed and affixed by Hammer Galleries: “Estate of Eleanor Roosevelt No. ____, Hyde Park, N.Y.” is printed, with “3067” added in autograph. Hammer dispersed many books from the Roosevelts’ library in two sales: the first in 1946, and the second, in 1951.
