8vo.; brown wrappers printed in black, stapled and glued; spine wrinkled.

Annual Report of the New York State Woman Suffrage Association, detailing the Convention held over three days in the autumn of 1913, in Binghamton, New York. In addition to the report given by Mrs. Raymond Brown, President of the Association, there are, among others, reports on the progress and ideas of the Credentials Committee, the Resolutions Committee, and Press Committee. Also printed is the Constitution and by-laws of the Association, as well as the object of the Association: “to secure to the women of the State of New York and of the United States their right to vote, by appropriate State and National Legislation” (Article II).

This copy belonged to attendant Jane Olcott, who signed it in ink on the cover, and inserted a slip of pencil notes regarding Committee members and alternates. Olcott graduated from Mt. Holyoke College in 1909; she was devoted to liberal causes and eventually worked for the radical labor paper, The Artisan. In the years leading up to the passing of the 19th amendment she was a suffragette who worked closely with Carrie Chapman Catt.
