Bright Ideas for Money-Making.
[Labor]. Anonymous. Bright Ideas for Money-Making. Over two hundred practical ideas for women for the making of the needed wherewithal, among them many which may be carried out at home; with a chapter devoted to suggestions for boys and girls. Philadelphia: George W. Jacobs & Co., (1911).
8vo.; hinge cracked at title page; butterscotch cloth, stamped in navy.
First edition. In this book, several suggestions are presented as to how women can earn a living working in fields that are suitable to their feminine natures, such as cooking or acting as a caretaker. With chapters bearing titles such as “The Girl Who Can Cook,” “Possibilities of the Needle,” and a final miscellaneous chapter describing types of theme parties (such as The Strawberry Fete and The Halloween Barn Dance) that can be thrown with a small admission charge for the guests, this book is indeed filled with “bright” and diverse ideas about how women can contribute to society without any additional education, using only their feminine intuition and natural gifts.
