Votes for Women. People Say / We Say.
National American Woman Suffrage Association. Broadside: "VOTES FOR WOMEN People Say: We Say:” New York City: National American Woman Suffrage Association, [c. 1917].
Broadside: 7-1/4 x 10-1/2"; printed black on orange stock (one side); lower left tip lacking; notch to top edge some darkening; about very good.
The broadside sets out staple anti-suffrage arguments on the left and suffrage counter-arguments on the right, i.e.: "A woman’s place is in the home." "She leaves it to go to market and why not to vote—it takes less time.” The NAWSA printed the broadside in a small handbill or flyer format as well. Again, the NAWSA probably added this to its Rainbow Series after Franklin had published her The Case For Woman Suffrage (1913).
