The "Convention Number" with the official program for the 46th Annual Convention of the New York State Woman Suffrage Association in Rochester, the October calendar of suffrage events and a call to the National Convention. "On to Rochester!" carefully lays out an ambitious statewide pilgrimage by automobile (see below) to the Rochester convention:
Banners flying, bugles blowing, cars full of eager workers, will stop in every town to wage their campaign. Open-air meetings will be held in every business center; stops for luncheons and dinners will be made occasions for banquets, to which city dignitaries and their wives will be invited and toasts to suffrage made…
The issue, perhaps reflecting the influence of Carrie Chapman Catt, also prints antiwar pieces, poetry and cartoons, most importantly a plea by Rosika Schwimmer on behalf of the International Woman Suffrage Alliance to President Wilson appealing for peace. Also printed are names of the officers of the New York State Woman Suffrage Association, the officers of the Woman Suffrage Party, New York City and the officers and Executive Section of the Empire Campaign Committee under Carrie Chapman Catt. The Woman Voter appeared from 1910 until 1917 when it was merged with The Woman’s Journal and the National Suffrage News to form the Woman Citizen. Franklin, p. 302.
