Fabric of My Life.

Solomon, Hannah G. Fabric of My Life. (Autobiography of a social pioneer.) NY: Bloch Publishing Company, 1946.

8vo.; blue cloth, stamped in gilt; dust-jacket; spine lightly browned; extremities nicked, especially head of spine and bottom edge of lower panel.

First edition of Solomon’s autobiography, published by Bloch Publishing Company, “The Jewish Book Concern,” who print the copyright date according to both the Western (1946) and Jewish (5707) calendars. A Columbia University professor maintains that this volume should help dispel “religious and racial prejudice”: “Hannah Solomon lived the life of a religious Jewess and a devoted American. Her life demonstrates the important fact that no genuine conflict exists between Jewishness and true Americanism” (dust-jacket).
