Collection of 20 letters, 30 pages, plus 8 telegrams, and one printed circular, in very good, clean and legible condition. The bulk of the letters are dated January through May 1884.

Interesting collection of letters between Hamilton Willcox, chairman of the Woman Suffrage Party, and William Howland, of Sherwood, New York, who as a member of the New York State Assembly from Cayuga County's second district, introduced the bill the two discuss. Many of the letters are marked “Confidential” and discuss the strategy employed and the difficult progress of the bill through the legislature.
