This includes news of the temperance movement, a letter from Mrs. Gage, article, "The Democratic Review of Woman's Rights," The duty of the Drunkard's Wife: Divorce;" An address by Ann Preston, etc.

Amelia Bloomer (1818-1894) attended the first woman's right convention in Seneca Falls, NY in 1848 as a spectator as she was involved in the temperance movement at the time. She founded "The Lily" in 1848, one of the first newspapers published by a woman and wrote on marriage, temperance and woman suffrage, etc. She is one the earliest campaigners for woman's rights and is best remembered for her association with the dress reform movement and the "bloomers" that were named after her.
