LETTER: Autograph letter signed, S to William Russel.

UNPUBLISHED
Fuller, Margaret. Autograph letter signed, to William Russel, October 29, 1847; four pages.
An unpublished letter by Fuller, discussing the publication and remaindering of Summer on the Lakes, and
her disappointment in the state of her career; in part:
I see I am doomed to remain a journalist to do only ephemeral things always having no future. I
have realized about five hundred dollars from the sale of books, and so much more in other ways. /
As to money, I greive [sic] not to have some at this epoch in my life: it would make me so really
happy, but I see it is not to be; and [ ] shall just accept my fate as usual . . .
An unpublished, poignant letter with personal and professional import.
