Autograph Letter Signed "Rosa Mackenzie Kettle", regional novelist, to "Mrs. Hale".
Heathside, near Poole, 5 Feb. , no year. Four pages, 12mo, good condition. She asks her correspondent if she is interested in an orphanage discussed in a newspaper. A concert had been given in its aid and contributions were solicited. Rosa would like to help but would also like more information. She discusses a book she has written which she rates, but Mr Tinsley [publisher] sems reelauctan to publish but is slow to return the manuscript. He wants to publish it in two volumes, she in one as previously. Apparently Tinsley didn't publish anything by her (BL Catalogue online).
