First edition of a promotional pamphlet used to advertise Bernhardt’s 1912 Orpheum Circuit tour, featuring photographs of Bernhardt in costume for her roles in plays including Une Nuit de Noel, La Dame aux Camelias, La Tosca, Thoedora, Lucrèce Borgia, and Phèdre. For each play, there is a brief plot summary, cast list, and photograph of Bernhardt. A biography of Bernhardt is included, as well as the history of her association with Martin Beck, who is credited with introducing “The Divine Sarah” to the American vaudeville stage. During the 1912-1913 season, Bernhardt toured around the country performing variety acts under Beck’s management. The tour concluded with a successful engagement in New York at the Palace Theatre, which was built by Beck in 1913. Eight copies located by OCLC.
