First edition of this cook book by Richards, who operated several New Orleans restaurants
beginning in the 1920s. She also ran a catering business and, in the 1930s, a cooking school. A
television cooking show pioneer, she had a program WDSU featured from 1947-49. Houghton
Mifflin published Richards’s New Orleans Cook Book in 1939 through the intercession of James
Beard.
Signed by Richards on her portrait frontispiece.
Scarce: we can trace no copies at auction in the last 20 years.
