Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Hurston’s Masterwork
In the Rare Dust-Jacket

Hurston, Zora Neale. Their Eyes Were Watching God. A novel. Philadelphia/London: J.B. Lippincott Company, (1937).

8vo.; orange cloth stamped in black; black topstain; dust-jacket; price-clipped; light edgewear; else sharp and bright. In a specially made quarter-morocco slipcase.

A beautiful copy in the scarce gold, white, and black dust-jacket, printing praise of her first book, Mules and Men, on the lower panel and a plot summary on the flaps, along with scant biographical information including the facts that Hurston had won Guggenheim fellowships in 1936 and 1937, and honor mention in the Book-of-the-Month Club Awards in 1937.
