Fiftieth Anniversary Issue. Published on the 50th anniversary of the first publication of Der Judenstaat in Vienna, February 14, 1896, this edition was translated and edited by Jacob M. Alkow with a condensed biography of Herzl by Alex Bein and an introduction by Louis Lipsky. This was published during that critical period when the fate of the Jews was in the balance, and the various United Nations committees were debating the merits of a Jewish State.
