Hannukah Lamp.

Ivriah. Hanukkah Lamp. New York, ca. 1930.

Brass, 8 1/2" including height of the tallest candle-holder, Shamash.

Ivriah (literally a Jewess), was a women's organization established in New York in the late 1920's / early 30's, as a Division of the Jewish Education Association devoted to promoting women participation in Jewish ritual and education. This Hanukah Lamp dates from that period. The eight lower candle holders are positioned atop letters IVRIAH, which rest atop an arching band affixed to flaring base.
