LETTERS: Two TLS to Thomas Boyd.

Let me begin with the Evelyn Scott and Genevieve Taggard letters to my grandfather Thomas Boyd. These two items were among the numerous letters written to my grandfather, probably when he was working with Scott Fitzgerald at The St. Paul Daily News. At that time Tom Boyd was the book editor & reviewer at the paper. He also operated his own bookshop, Kilmarnock Books.
When my grandmother Peggy Boyd died, she left the collection of manuscripts, books, and letters to my mother, Elizabeth (Betty Grace) Boyd. Researcher Brian Bruce has written a book about Boyd and his connection with the St. Paul Daily News as well as Boyd's bookshop, Kilmarnock Books, which he operated simultaneously. It was principally through the bookshop, as I understand it, that Boyd met such literary luminaries at Edna Ferber, Sinclair Lewis, Aldous Huxley, Evelyn Scott and Genevieve Taggard. They signed books for him, wrote him letters of literary advice, etc.
