Women in the Home / Votes for Women.
[National Woman Suffrage Publishing Association]. Flyer: "Women in the Home.” New York City: National Woman Suffrage Publishing Company, Inc., [c. 1912-1917].
Flyer: 4-3/4 x 6-7/8"; printed black on purple stock (one side); upper right tip lacking; some tanning along top margin; about very good.
The flyer makes the Progressive argument that since women are responsible for the health and safety of their home and family they need the vote: "Men are responsible for the [sanitary] conditions under which the children live, but we hold women responsible for the results, must we not, in simple justice, let them have something to say as to what these conditions shall be?" The NAWSA first printed the flyer in 1910 and continued to reprint it during the referendum campaigns of 1915 and 1917. One of the Rainbow Series. (Franklin, p. 178)
