8vo.; stapled wrappers; light shelf wear.
Report listing all organizations in the New York area affiliated with the New York Association of Working Girls’ Societies, including location and operating hours, as well as the identity of club officials. Each society is then described in more depth in a narrative style so that one may discern each group’s strength and focus; most offer instructional classes in everything from embroidery and cooking to stenography, current events and even foreign languages. The clubs also coordinate social events for women workers and sponsor lectures (called “Practical Talks”) about business and related topics. Includes Treasurer’s Report for 1898-1899 and the Constitution of the New York Association of Working Girls’ Societies.
