First edition of the autobiography of America’s foremost female labor leader. A presentation copy, inscribed in a shaky hand: Mary Hood and [ ] Mother Jones best wishes March 7 1926 96 years young! Jones’s penmanship speaks volumes about her ill health and advanced age: she died on November 30, 1930, at age 100, only three and a half years after she made this gift.
