Your trip sounds full – but a good sign, that you can get such a thing now & then. I love the itinerary! It sounds like a trip by A. Lehman Engel was close friend of Welty's from Jackson and one of the "bright, talented young men" who "provided Welty with a stimulating atmosphere in which to write". See Suzanne Marrs, THE WELTY COLLECTION, pp. 150152 for more on the writer's relationship with Lehman Engel and Hubert Creekmore. She put both in touch with Diarmuid Russell.
*Likely Eudora Welty's review of Kroll's WATERS OVER THE DAM which appeared in the NYTBR March 26th.
